| Predictive
Maintenance (PdM) consists of using non-invasive
equipment and techniques to analyze the condition
of a piece of operating machinery. It provides
you an advance warning of impending problems. It
can tell you when maintenance is needed and how a
piece of equipment is going to fail. It allows
you to plan for the repairs and do them on your
schedule instead of the machine's. PdM allow the
inspection of the machine while it is running, it
eliminates the need to tear it down to find
problems and it reduces the probability of
"infant mortality". SS&A is staffed with highly qualified and experienced PdM Technicians. Our training and certification is performed in accordance with the Vibration Institute. Predictive Maintenance Program (PMP) SS&A can establish a predictive maintenance program for your facility. This includes; list equipment in order of priority, review the common failure modes & determine the method of inspection, set up the inspection route & frequency, monitor & record the data, analyze the data & predict the expected remaining life, report impending failures & corrective actions, and perform failure analysis on failed components. Equipment Acceptance Inspections Our qualified technicians are experienced in conducting acceptance inspections on individual pieces of equipment, new lines or system or entire plants. These inspections are similar to PdM inspections and are designed to identify "infant mortality" failures which can be a result of, poor design, poor quality, incorrect installation or bad workmanship. Many of our clients require these inspections prior to accepting the equipment or system from the manufacturer. Vibration Analysis and Field Balancing Vibration analysis and field balancing if required are done on equipment that are not performing properly. This analysis will identify the root causes of the problem so the appropriate corrective action can be taken. Predictive Maintenance Training Our staff can train your maintenance personnel in all aspects of PdM. We have the knowledge and experience to teach your personnel in setting up a predictive maintenance program, conducting equipment acceptance inspections, vibration analysis and field balancing. We have trained maintenance personnel in petrochemical plants, paper mills and process industries. |
